Nature somehow always manages to defy its own disasters with the quiet emergence of a bold yet fragile efflorescence. It is in this act that we find glimpses of glory, a bold beauty that refuses to quit.
The flowers you see in Emergence have been painted over the last year of my life. They have been birthed in a particularly difficult chapter of my own experience. They almost forced their way out, I felt compelled to paint them. Flowers have been painted for centuries, symbolizing multiple things. For me: in darkness, unknowns and adversity, the act of painting color, light, and fragility was a necessary expression.
